Este artículo analiza el uso de las aulas virtuales en la Universidad de Cundinamarca. Para ello se emplearon tres etapas: i) estadísticas de disponibilidad y uso, ii) percepción del profesor y iii) percepción del estudiante. Los resultados muestran que la tasa de uso disminuyó en los últimos años y que los programas de ingeniería de sistemas e ingeniería electrónica son los que más utilizan las aulas virtuales. Los profesores afirman que las aulas virtuales son relevantes en el contexto educativo, pero que la gestión de la plataforma dificulta su uso. Aunque las aulas virtuales poseen un entorno adecuado para los estudiantes, éstos expresan que las aulas virtuales no son tan eficaces para comunicarse con sus profesores. Profesores y alumnos coinciden en que las aulas virtuales son un complemento para la educación que refuerza el proceso de aprendizaje. Pero los profesores y los estudiantes también consideran que la principal desventaja son los fallos técnicos que se encuentran en las aulas virtuales. En general, se concluye que los profesores y los estudiantes tienen una percepción positiva de las aulas virtuales.
